Elizabeth Kearney to oversee hospital’s nursing department and patient care

PHOENIX – Feb. 24, 2017 – IASIS Healthcare has announced a new addition to its leadership team with Elizabeth Kearney accepting the role of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Mountain Vista Medical Center, a full-service hospital in east Mesa.

The Chief Nursing Officer title is the highest nursing management position in a hospital and is responsible for overseeing the 178-bed acute care hospital’s nursing department and patient care services. As part of her role, Kearney will assist with carrying out the hospital’s mission, vision and values, and is responsible for patient satisfaction, quality of care and staff education.

“We are very excited to have Elizabeth in this role because she knows Mountain Vista and its people. Her passion for helping people helps to drive decisions with regards to both patients and colleagues, and she’s earned the respect of them all,” said Eric Paul, IASIS Healthcare’s Arizona Market President.

Kearney has been fulfilling the role of interim CNO since November 2016 and has played an integral part of the Mountain Vista Medical team since 2008, when she was hired as a new graduate nurse. She advanced through the Hospital rapidly and deservingly, being promoted to charge nurse in 2010, Women’s Services Manager in 2011 and then Women’s Services Director in March 2012. Several months thereafter, she also agreed to oversee the Med/Surg department as its Director.

Kearney’s robust experience, combined with her stellar education, made her the perfect candidate for the challenging CNO role. She holds a Master of Business Administration from California Coast University and earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Grand Canyon University.
