Recipients of the Chairman’s Award are not only exceptional employees but also exceptional individuals who have earned tremendous respect for putting aside their personal gain in the pursuit of helping others.
Giving Back To The Communities That Trust IASIS
Giving back to the communities we serve is integral to our mission and each of our values. Every year IASIS provides hundreds of millions of dollars in uncompensated care to patients who live and work in the hospital community. Through local partnerships, we also support community-based charities and work closely with first-responder EMS providers to improve the delivery of care.
Nurturing Our Nurses
Nurses are important in driving all aspects of operational excellence and delivering personalized care at the bedside. Throughout our history, IASIS has proudly awarded more than $7 million in scholarships and donations to local colleges and universities to bolster nursing education. Additionally, every IASIS employee is eligible for tuition assistance, which is often used to achieve a nursing degree or advanced license and/or certification.
Caring For Our Global Community
The IASIS Healthcare Foundation is a charitable organization that was created in an effort to provide healthcare services, supplies and training to disadvantaged regions around the world. Through a collaborative effort that involved many IASIS employees, friends, partners and vendors, the Foundation’s first mission was a trip to the Serengeti Region in the east African nation of Tanzania. A team of IASIS physicians and nurses spent two weeks in the region, holding clinics where primary care and surgical services were provided to local individuals with a wide variety of medical needs. That first mission was christened “Operation Starfish” - a theme that IASIS continues today.
Over the years, the Foundation kept its commitment to helping those in need through monetary and medical supply donations and the sponsorship of mission trips to various countries in need. It also broadened its focus to include the IASIS communities. On several different occasions, the Foundation has provided assistance directly to our employees and their families affected by natural disasters including hurricanes and floods.
