    If you will be age 50 or older at any time during 2012, you can make up to an additional $5,500 pre-tax catch-up contribution during 2012 to your 401(k) Plan account if you meet one of the following plan limits:
    1. You contribute 50% (the maximum Plan contribution rate limit) of eligible Compensation to the 401(k) Plan for the entire year or
    2. You contribute $17,000 (the maximum dollar contribution limit) to
      the 401(k) Plan in 2012.

You are not required to reach one of the above plan limits before you begin making catch-up contributions, but you must be contributing at a rate that allow you to reach one of the limits in calendar year 2012.
